ABOUT
BEHIND THE LENS
Andrew Dillon Bustin is a 24 year-old freelance photographer living and working on the South Shore of Boston, Massachusetts where he grew up. His passion for photography developed after he took a summer program on experimental and pinhole photography at MassArt in 2002. He was only 15. During highschool Andrew began exploring digital photography and taught himself the principles of design through experiential learning. At Indiana University he gained valuable journalism experience by taking photos for the school's acclaimed newspaper, the Indiana Daily Student. This combination of both institutional and independent training has laid the foundation for Andrew's unique and creative approach. His work has also been greatly influenced by his education in Human-Environment Interaction, sustainability, and Earth systems. Andrew believes that much like Geography, photography is about investigating temporal, spatial, cultural, and environmental relationships. Photo-Geography may be an original term for this idea but it is by no means an unexplored concept.
